Sebastian + Barquet is pleased to announce a collaborative exhibition with renowned painter and carpet designer Madeline Weinrib that will run from September 10th through October 23rd. In her first partnership with the gallery, Weinrib brings her signature textile designs to a pantheon of Modernist furniture. Reimagining mid-century touchstones by Gio Ponti, Vladimir Kagan and Arne Jacobsen through her own contemporary and highly-singular lens, Weinrib’s project explores the relationship between form, color and pattern and upends the formal rigor of the Modernist aesthetic.
In an ongoing collaboration with the Neue Galerie, Madeline was invited to design exclusive pieces for the museum's artfully curated Design Shop. To develop the designs, Madeline personally visited the Wiener Werkstätte archives in Vienna to conduct her research.

Madeline Weinrib is pleased to announce her Spring-ready collaboration with Manolo Blahnik. The collection, which features Weinrib’s fabrics on four Blahnik shoe styles — a pump, wedge, smoking shoe and sandal — is exclusive to the U.S. A selection will be available at Manolo Blahnik in New York and select Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus and Barneys New York locations. The shoes retail for $575- $775. As Weinrib tells WWD: "They beautifully translated my fabrics into shoes that feel incredibly fresh and new."
Designed exclusively for Art in General, a nonprofit organization that assists artists with the production and presentation of new work, Madeline Weinrib's new Mistletoe carpet was inspired by the iconic holiday evergreen. The design is a play on our unusual relationship with the plant, and the rituals associated with it. This time we stand over it, rather than under it.
